First Annual Philadelphia CS (Computer Science) Principles Showcase – May 14

The First Annual Philadelphia CS Principles Showcase will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, 9 AM – 1 PM at The Quorum, 3675 Market Street (Philadelphia Science Center) adjacent to Drexel’s College of Computing & Informatics.
Planned activities:
- A panel for teachers: “The Voices of Experience: best practices from CSP Teachers”
- 10-minute “Lightning Talks” from teachers about projects that have gone well in their classes.
- Performance Tasks submitted by students for their AP CS Principles exam.Tips for recruiting students (and/or recruiting a diverse group of students) to take a CS Principles class.
- How teachers contribute Computational Thinking to their non-CS classes
- Overview for teachers of some standard CS Curricula, e.g., Code.org, Beauty and Joy of Computing, Mobile CSP
- Perspectives from teachers who have served as AP CS Principles readers.
- Preparing teachers for the CS Praxis Exam.
- Breakfast and Lunch!
