Virtual tutoring for students with housing insecurity
Posted by PHENND on February 1, 2022
The Satellite Leaning Program through The Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development (PHENND) is offering free tutoring for School District of Philadelphia K-12 students who qualify under McKinney-Vento. The tutoring will be virtual. Tutors can also assist with SAT/ACT prep or navigating the college admissions process. Tutors are all current college students, and are currently mostly attending the University of Pennsylvania.
Please note only students who qualify under McKinney-Vento are eligible. This is any student whose living situation is not fixed, regular, or adequate which can mean everything from living in a shelter to being doubled up with family in overcrowded housing. If you are unsure if the student qualifies please reach out to ecyeh@philasd.org or visit www.philasd.org/homeless.
