Grants Manager, Dispossessions in the Americas Mellon Project – Jan 3

The primary purpose of this role is to support the research activities of the Mellon “Dispossessions in the Americas” Research Team and of the Center for Latin American and Latinx Studies. Under limited supervision, this position will manage the sponsored Grant Funds from pre-award through post-award, while working with Principal Investigators on other Grant Funds proposal development, budget development and related pre-award and post-award requirements. This position is a 3 year term appointment.
The Grants Manager will consult with research faculty in the preparation of sponsored projects budgets, narratives, and proposals; will review proposals for compliance with sponsors and University policies, including the Institutional Review Board, and will ensure Regulatory Affairs requirements are satisfied and that Conflict of Interest statements are submitted when required. Under limited supervision, the successful candidate will manage the sponsored Grant Funds from pre-award through post-award, while working with Principal Investigators (PIs) on proposal development, budget development, and related pre-award and post-award requirements for a diverse sponsor portfolio. The individual will also manage the post-award processes including full accounting services, which include but are not limited to, onboarding and institutional requirements for subcontractors, vendors, and consultants; monitoring and reviewing of all charges; reconciliation of accounts and budgets; processing payroll; preparation of monthly financial reports for Principal Investigators. The individual will prepare the financial reports to sponsors and will collaborate with Principal Investigators on the writing of on-going and final reports of activities.
The Grants Manager will also provide administrative and accounting support of grant funded conferences and events, whether these take place in virtual or presential formats. This individual will communicate with conference and event participants and provide all the logistical support that may be necessary for conference sites, venues, as well as participants’ travel, accommodations, honoraria, etc. Because this individual will be communicating with collaborators throughout the Americas, fluency in Spanish (both written and oral) is required.
