Virtual Event: The Rise of the Youth Vote and Reactive Restrictions – Nov 11

On Thursday, November 11 at 6:00 p.m., The Andrew Goodman Foundation (AGF) invites you to join us for The Rise of The Youth Vote and Reactive Restrictions, featuring a conversation with honored guest speaker Clarence B. Jones.

In 2020, our country saw record-breaking youth voter turnout with 50% of 18- to 29-year-olds and 66% of college students casting their ballot. This turnout has been met with an alarming number of new anti-voter bills that aim to restrict their freedom to vote. As of October 4, 425 restrictive voting bills have been introduced in 49 states. Many of the newly introduced anti-voter bills take aim at restricting early and absentee voting, enacting stricter voter ID laws, and making voter registration harder. With 70% of youth voting early or by mail in the 2020 election, the new laws target young voters.

AGF will share with you our vision and present a focused example of the campaign strategy of one of our Andrew Goodman Ambassadors going into 2022. Hear and learn how we plan to text students to get them to register and participate, become poll workers, connect them with legal counsel, and provide innovative solutions to ensure their voting rights and access to the polls.
