Community Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time), OCCCDA

Based in the Oxford Circle neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA, the Oxford Circle Christian Community Development Association (OCCCDA) is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator. The mission of OCCCDA is “to extend healing and hope in the Oxford Circle community, believing that God’s purpose of reconciling all people to Jesus leads us to minister on spiritual, physical, social & economic levels.”
The Community Outreach Coordinator will provide support to the community by connecting them with resources, jobs and educational and training opportunities.
COMPENSATION & HOURS: The position is 30-34 hours per week at $17.00 per hour. Benefits include vacation and holiday pay. This position is a grant funded position and subject to continued funding.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- An understanding of and a commitment to carry out the mission of Oxford Circle CCDA.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to interact and speak to a diverse population of staff, volunteers, and partner organizations.
- Demonstrated management and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field plus 3 years-experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated management and organizational skills.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) or (English/Mandarin) a plus.
- Competency in Google Suite and familiarity with social media.
- Experience in job development and placement is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
COMMUNITY OUTREACH (10 hours)
- Provide support in the sharing of resources to the local community including food, diapers, toys, etc.
- Supervise employees and volunteers that support the food distribution program.
- Manage food inventory, calculate the number of items that will be packaged in each box per week.
- Manage and update the food distribution spreadsheet on a weekly basis.
- Create weekly schedules for staff and volunteers.
- At the end of each distribution, assure that the area is clean, organized and prepared to welcome shipment.
- Pick-up resources including food, diapers, and other donations on an as needed basics.
- Ensure our programs and events incorporate our mission of meeting people’s holistic needs.
- Provide support for special events including festivals, volunteer events, and other community events.
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT (20 hours)
- Assist individuals in the Oxford Circle community and those within OCCCDA’s programs with support and resources to find a job and referrals to education and training opportunities.
- Network and outreach to businesses and organizations in the community and Philadelphia that have job and training opportunities.
- Develop and teach workshops on resume writing, job search, interviewing and soft skills.
- Work with businesses to provide job placement after internship or training program is completed.
- Work with the Community Relations Manager to develop job training programs.
- Share job and training opportunities with Community Relations Manager to post on a regular basis.
- Provide general support to Workforce Development Program focusing on job development and placement.
