The Rutgers Housing Justice Project (“HJP”) is a Rutgers Law School program, based at the Camden location, through which law students and attorneys provide legal information, assistance, and representation to low and moderate income tenants at risk of losing their homes due to the global pandemic. The HJP includes the Housing Justice Pro Bono Program and the Housing Justice Legal Clinic. HJP faculty, staff and students will work in partnership with counterparts at Rutgers Law School in Newark as well as at Seton Hall Law School, along with a variety of community partners.

The Project Coordinator/Administrator will assist in all aspects of administrating the HJP. Specifically, the Project Coordinator will:

  • assist HJP faculty, attorneys, and students with a variety of Project administrative tasks;
  • assist with answering phones, conducting client intake, checking for conflicts of interest, scheduling client meetings, and gathering and maintaining client data for reporting purposes;
  • assist in the creation of program related materials and reports for grants and handle expense reports and reimbursements
  • maintain updated list of referrals and assist in referral of matters and tracking of referral data as appropriate;
  • provide Spanish/English interpretation and translation services;
  • create and help maintain case files;
  • provide administrative support to Pro Bono Program Administrator as it relates to trainings and community events
