New Report – Leveraging Head Start for Student Parent Families
Posted by Institute for Women's Policy Research on August 31, 2021
Nearly a quarter of undergraduate students are raising dependent children, but student parents often confront major challenges that reduce their ability to enter, flourish in, and graduate from college. A new briefing paper from the Institute for Women’s Policy Research outlines how the higher education system and Head Start programs can develop partnerships that support student parents’ unique needs and help them meet their long-term goals. The report explores federal and state policy approaches that could help parents better pursue and achieve postsecondary education while accessing affordable, high-quality childcare.
