Posted by Washington Post Live on July 13, 2021

The coronavirus pandemic upended education and generated concern about millions of students falling behind – especially those of color and in high-poverty communities.

In the first of a two-part “Opportunity in Crisis: Investing in Educational Equity” series, Thursday, July 15 at 12:00pm ET, Washington Post Live will bring together Learning Policy Institute president & CEO Linda Darling Hammond and incoming Nevada State College president DeRionne Pollard for a conversation focused on the state of education in the U.S., how to create a more equitable path forward and ways to equip students for skills needed in a rapidly changing world.

On Monday, July 19 at 3:00pm ET, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona talks about what policies can help students, teachers and families as schools reopen again this fall.
