New Article: Our Democracy Requires Year-Round Work

On June 21, 2021, in Newsweek, Rise’s Mary-Pat Hector coauthored an op-ed with LaTosha Brown (founder of the Black Voters Matter Fund) and Nsé Ufot (CEO of The New Georgia Project): “Our Democracy Requires Year-Round Work.“ Our organizations were the first to challenge Georgia’s voter suppression law in court as co-plaintiffs, and this piece argues that it will take all of us working together—advocates, business leaders, students and ordinary folks—to stop voter suppression and protect our democracy.
