New Survey Results: Universal Support among Young People for AmeriCorps

Posted by Voices for National Service on May 18, 2021

A new poll by TargetPoint/GQR found that there is near universal support among young people for AmeriCorps! Nearly all young people support expanding service opportunities through AmeriCorps—and a great majority of those surveyed would consider serving in AmeriCorps themselves. In overwhelming numbers, young people believe national service can give them a chance to do their civic duty, help them solve problems in their communities and give them the opportunity to gain real world experience before entering an uncertain job market.

The poll, which was conducted for Voices for National Service and With Honor Action, found that among 18-24 year olds, concerns over the economy and enthusiasm for service are extremely high for young people across political, regional and economic demographics. Those surveyed also view direct service as the most effective way to make change and overwhelmingly support increasing funding for AmeriCorps.

Please help us share this exciting new research on Facebook and Twitter so we can highlight the extraordinary public support for expanding service opportunities and encourage the White House and Congress to increase investment in AmeriCorps.
