Webinar to Highlight Successful Programs to Reduce Summer Learning Loss
The Wallace Foundation and the YEF Institute will host an hour-long webinar on Tues., November 3, at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time on “Reducing Summer Learning Loss: Implementing Successful Programs.” The webinar will focus on how effective programs that prevent students from forgetting what they learned during the school year can be better supported, improved and made more available to children who need them. Municipal leaders will share the role that they have played to support summer learning in their cities. Speakers will include:
* Maxine Quintana, director of student programs, Mayor’s Office for Education and Children, City of Denver, Colo.;
* Sabrina Sutton, special assistant for youth and education, Office of the Mayor, City of Baltimore, Md.;
* Ron Fairchild, CEO, National Summer Learning Association; and
* A representative from Child Trends.
