Posted by Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative on February 16, 2021
At the end of 2020, the Collaborative launched the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion education series. We had an incredible response and participation in our first 3 sessions, and hope you will join us for this upcoming program.
March 18, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM – Best Practices When Working with Girls in Sport – Led by We Coach
Girls participate in sport at lower rates than boys at all ages, but it is not because they don’t enjoy the key components of sport: being competitive, feeling athletic, reaching goals, and building a team. The reality is that girls have extra challenges to overcome when it comes to staying in the game. In this session, we will discuss the physical, mental, academic, and social benefits that sports participation has been shown to give along with strategies proven to drive success in these areas.
