New Podcast: Iron Sharpens Iron, a Community Organizing Jawn
Posted by Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations on January 19, 2021
Our friends Leon Robinson and De’Wayne Drummond are Philly community organizers on a mission to empower grassroots organizers with the skills and tools they need to succeed. Leon and De’Wayne believe that, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” With this in mind, our podcast hopes to spread information and tools from one neighborhood to another and become sharper with every conversation!
In each episode of Iron Sharpens Iron, Leon and De’Wayne will interview fellow organizers about what’s happening in their communities, what they’re doing to change the status quo, and what they’ve learned in the process. We already have an amazing line up for our first four episodes: Majeedah Rashid, Nicetown CDC; Jen Devor, Better Civics; Iliana Dominguez-Franco, Asociación Puertorriqueños en Marcha; Derrick Pratt, People’s Emergency Center CDC.
Iron Sharpens Iron will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, Google Podcasts, Anchor, and other major podcast platforms. Keep your eye out for our official release in February.
Iron Sharpens Iron is produced by the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations. Host and guest opinions are their own. Iron Sharpens Iron is edited by Andrew Heppard and features music from Will Ellsworth (@will.ellsworth on Instagram).
