Podcast: Lessons Earned Launches Season 3

Posted by Strada Education Network on December 8, 2020

Lessons Earned, is Strada Education Network’s podcast featuring interviews with innovative thinkers in education, policy, and workforce development as they shared ideas about how to shape the future of learning and working. We’re excited to launch our latest season with a new co-host and an exciting lineup of guests and topics.

This season, Braven CEO Aimée Eubanks Davis will join me as the co-host of “Lessons Earned,” bringing perspectives from her work to help first-generation and low-income students, as well as students of color, to gain the skills, confidence, experiences, and networks needed to transition from college into strong first jobs. Aimée, a 2019 Obama Foundation Fellow, also brings her experiences as a former sixth-grade teacher who spent much of her career leading the human capital and diversity efforts at Teach for America.

Our first episode as a team debuts today as we feature an interview with Jeff Selingo, author of “Who Gets In and Why: A Year Inside College Admissions” and “There Is Life After College: What Parents and Students Should Know About Navigating School to Prepare for the Jobs of Tomorrow.” Aimée and I talk to Jeff about the college admissions process and how it could be improved to make postsecondary education more equitable.

Watch for new episodes of “Lessons Earned” this winter as we feature interviews with Michael Collins, vice president at JFF, and Michelle Weise, author of a new book, “Long Life Learning: Preparing for Jobs that Don’t Even Exist Yet.”

Listen to Lessons Learned.
