Calling all First-Generation or Low-Income (FGLI) Alumni & Advocates

For many of you, the transition from college to the workforce or graduate school may have been arduous and uncertain. Maybe you couldn’t find a job after graduation or were working at a job that didn’t require a degree or wasn’t in your field. Maybe you had no mentors or support. If so, know you were not alone. Only a few universities across the country have Alumni Networks or similar supports for FGLI graduates.

To combat the unemployment and underemployment many FGLI graduates experience, EdMobilizer recently created a free, open source national directory composed of FGLI Alumni. Alumni that do not identify as First-Generation or Low-Income but want to support others are encouraged to join as well.

Now is the chance for you to be the person you wish someone was for you. By joining the directory, you pledge to be a support for FGLI Alumni or current FGLI students that reach out. You can also use the directory to reach out to others within the network. You can register here.

The network is growing rapidly! Our goal is to register 10,000 individuals within the next year. Help us by registering and/or sharing with your networks.
