Philly Fellows seeks Host Agencies
Posted by on September 14, 2009
We’re excited to announce that we’ve begun the process of recruiting a new group of host agencies to become part of the fellowship for 2010-2011. Host agencies get matched with a talented recent college graduate for a year-long, full-time capacity-building project beginning in August 2010.
We’ve updated our website with the latest information about the agency application process. The first step is for interested organizations is to submit a brief Reply Form that describes the agency and a preliminary outline of the project. Information about the program and the application process is available at http://www.phillyfellows.org/nonprofit. The Reply Forms, which are available at the site, are due on September 30, 2009.
Philly Fellows can be invaluable resources to help get new projects off the ground or add capacity to organizations to increase productivity and further their mission. Philly Fellows are selected from among the top college graduates in the region (this year we had 257 applications from prospective fellows for our 20 slots). Because fellows have the opportunity to select from a diverse variety of placements, host agencies will receive a fellow who has a clear interest in the work and mission of the organization.
Fellowship projects must be capacity-building in nature (as opposed to direct service or administrative roles) and must have specific and measurable anti-poverty goals.
If your agency has a workable project I hope you’ll consider applying for this unique opportunity. Agencies pay $12,500 to host a fellow for a year. If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of our staff members.
