    • PA Family Support Needs Assessment

    The Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning, in partnership with CHOP’s PolicyLAB, has released the 2020 Pennsylvania Family Support Needs Assessment (FSNA).

    The assessment is a requirement for Pennsylvania to continue receipt of federal Maternal, Infant and Early Childhoood Home Visiting dollars.

    The release of the report is the culmination of a two-year project examining a variety of factors impacting the well-being of children and families in Pennsylvania, which examines a wide range of maternal and child social, environmental and health factors impacting the well-being of children, families and communities across state.

    Each county is categorized as having low, moderate or elevated need across six domains. The Childhood Begins at Home campaign, which advocates for investments in evidence-based home visiting, is eagerly reviewing the report to help inform its work.
