Get Out the Vote Resources – Supporting Student Voter Education and Engagement
Posted by Democracy Works on October 27, 2020
To help support student voter education and engagement leading up to Election Day, here are a few resources from Democracy Works where students can find information about how, when, and where to vote.
How to Vote (HTV) provides a state-by-state summary of voter registration and voting rules for all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Available in English and Spanish, this resource is split up into two different sections for each state: How to Register and How to Vote. HTV breaks down the options each state offers for casting a ballot, empowering voters to decide when and where to vote.
Get to the Polls (GTTP) enables voters to identify where to vote or return their ballot, what’s on their ballot, and how to contact their state and local election officials by simply entering their address. GTTP is available in 13 languages, optimized for both desktop and mobile use, and covers all 50 states and DC. Most early voting data is available now! Some polling place and drop box information is live now, and we expect more to become available early next week. GTTP is powered by the Voting Information Project, a partnership between Democracy Works and state election administrators to uplift official election information to voters where they look for it most: online.
To make sharing these resources easy, we created a social media toolkit with graphics and sample copy for you to use.
If you end up promoting How to Vote or Get to the Polls as part of your get-out-the-vote efforts, we would love to hear about it! You can email Kyla Cavanaugh at kyla@democracy.works.
