America’s Health Future: The Impact of COVID-19 on our Health Systems – Oct 13

Posted by Washington Post Live on October 13, 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has upended the nation’s health-care system, causing traditional systems to begin changing and adapting. Washington Post Live will convene experts to assess the impact of those changes across the industry and look specifically at the development and deployment of a coronavirus vaccine—a process that used to take years but is now happening at warp speed. Guests will examine the candidates, timeline, guidelines, and risks as we face this new and urgent era in medicine. We will also look at how doctors have administered therapeutics and approached personalized treatment plans when faced with this unknown virus.

On Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 2:00 p.m. ET join Scripps Research executive vice president Eric Topol, MD and Pulitzer Prize-winning science journalist Laurie Garrett in conversation with The Washington Post’s Paige Winfield Cunningham for a discussion on what we have learned through this unprecedented time and how these new lessons will impact the overall future of health care in the United States.
