Campus Vote Project’s Voting Decision Tree

With campuses moving to hybrid or remote learning this semester, we know there is a lot of uncertainty around where students should register. To help support students through this process, we have created an easy-to-use texting tool, which students can interact with to get helpful guidance on how and where they should register to vote. 

With this new Student Voter Bot, students can simply text the number 762-ALL-VOTE (762-255-8683) for help answering the question “Where should I register to vote?” The tool is based on the logic of the Campus Vote Project’s decision tree: https://www.campusvoteproject.org/student-voting-faqs.

Texting “VOTE” (really, any phrase will do!) to 762-ALL-VOTE prompts the bot to ask students a series of YES or NO questions to help determine where they can register. Along with sharing guidance on where they should register, the bot also shares resources to answer further questions (howto.vote) and links students to TurboVote (using unique URLs for TurboVote campus partners but ANY student can use this tool).

We hope this can serve as a helpful addition to the Campus Vote Project decision tree as students work to gain clarity on voter registration.
