Black Lives Matter: Anti-Racist Career & Workforce Development – June 16
Posted by The Bamboo Project on June 16, 2020
You are invited you to a conversation led by Michele Martin of The Bamboo Project. Please feel free to invite others that work in (youth) workforce development and who may be interested in exploring this topic.
Michele Martin has spent all of her career in education, employment, and workforce development and recognizes that like every other American institution, this is a field that needs to have its own reckoning with institutional racism. Cultural competence is not enough. There’s deeper work to be done and we need everyone to do it.
She is inviting anyone who cares about moving beyond cultural competence and “diversity initiatives” into real anti-racism work in the profession of career and workforce development to join her for an initial conversation about how we can start doing this work. She envisions this as an ongoing process, but for now, is convening an initial conversation.
Date and Time: June 16, 2020, 12:30-1:30 PM
