Non-partisan Voter Program for Higher Education Institutions: Ask Every Student – Apr 30

Posted by Students Learn Students Vote on April 21, 2020

Ask Every Student is a non-partisan program for higher education institutions to scale, apply, and implement voter registration strategies that reach every student on campus. The program uses the framework that full student voter participation comes from integrating person-to-person voter registration into existing processes, such as orientation or classes – both in-person and virtually. And with COVID19 impacting our work, finding ways to ask every student will be incredibly important.

Ultimately, the goal of the program is simple: help colleges and universities register every eligible student to vote. There is funding available to support campus engagement in the Ask Every Student program on a needs basis. Institutions have the opportunity to apply via the First Step Form as either a Commitment or Codesigner Campus by the April 30th deadline.

Commitment Campuses will incorporate and implement Ask Every Student into their existing work for fall 2020 as a strategy and check in with their current national or state partners for guidance.

Codesigner Campuses will work directly with the Ask Every Student design team and will help in creating tools and resources. They’ll also integrate a full voter registration model into existing programming for implementation in the fall of 2020.
