How to Make Alternative Face Masks and Shields
Posted by City of Philadelphia on April 7, 2020
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recently recommended wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.
Although the City is strongly encouraging people to stay home and maintain strict social distancing guidelines, work or care-giving duties may require some residents to come in close contact with others. These people may want to use barrier protections (face masks and face shields) at these times on the assumption that any contact with others presents some risk.
