Updated Information on Philly Sites for Free Meals for School Children
Posted by City of Philadelphia on March 24, 2020
There has been a change in sites for free meals for students while schools are closed and days and times have changed also. Current information is available at: https://www.phila.gov/2020-03-14-find-free-meals-and-safe-spaces-for-students-while-schools-are-closed/.
This site will be updated with new information as it becomes available. Check back frequently.
To ensure that students can still have nutritious meals while all schools are closed, the School District of Philadelphia, several charter schools, and the Philadelphia Housing Authority are coordinating with the City’s Office of Children and Families to provide grab-and-go meals for children and youth throughout the city.
Beginning Monday, March 23, families can pick up meals at 80 locations. Meals are available from 9 a.m. to noon only and only on Mondays and Thursdays for Philadelphia District Schools. All children and youth are eligible, and no ID is required.
The Philadelphia Housing Authority has six community centers open for “grab-and-go” meals for breakfast and lunch from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon beginning on March 23. See link above for information on which centers are open.
