Call for Proposals: 2020 IARSLCE Conference – May 1

Proposals are now being accepted for the 20th anniversary conference of the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE), to be held in Minneapolis, November 11-13 and hosted by the University of Minnesota. The conference theme is “From Field Building to Global Action: Charting the Next 20 Years of Service-Learning and Community Engagement Research” will celebrate research advancements in the field over the past two decades and consider the field’s research agenda for the future. Conference chairs are Andy Furco and Amber Cameron.

The conference will pay tribute to the role that research has played over the last twenty years in in building and advancing the field of service-learning and community engagement, with an eye towards identifying the key research questions and issues for the field’s future development.

During the conference, a comprehensive, global research agenda will be unveiled that articulates the key issues, research questions, methodological approaches, and research challenges that will shape the field in the coming years. The agenda, which was developed through input from more than 250 participants across six continents will advance knowledge and understanding of service-learning and community engagement across the educational spectrum (pre-kindergarten through adult education) and across national, cultural, and disciplinary contexts.
