Widener Summer Mini-Camp in the Sciences for High School Students

The Next Generation Scientists Summer Mini-Camp is the perfect place for budding scientists of high school age to explore subjects as diverse as biochemistry, biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, geology, mathematics, meteorology, and physics & astronomy. The program involves direct scientific experimentation and discovery. It also provides a unique opportunity to meet with college faculty who are also professional scientists, along with Widener undergraduate science majors. We are confident that your daughter/son will find our summer program to be stimulating and rewarding.

Camp Dates: June 22-25 (Monday-Thursday)
Tuition Fee: $200
Deadline for application: Wednesday, June 17
Special Discount of ½ tuition ($100) for one additional sibling
Commuter only: Students must arrange their own transportation to and from Widener

Featured activities:

• workshops in disciplines of biochemistry, biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, mathematics, physics & astronomy
• special workshops on geology, meteorology and climatology
• all workshops led by regular full-time Science faculty
• tour of the Taylor Arboretum at Widener University
• special family stargazing night at the Widener Observatory
• interactions with current and recent science undergraduates
• tuition includes daily lunch in Pride Café
• certificates of achievement handed out at Widener’s Summer Research Program luncheon on Thursday
• each student will select a free book on science, nature, or literature
