Here are some highlights of CUMU resources from 2019:
Looking toward the future of urban and metropolitan universities: In recognition of our 30th anniversary, we invited past and present members of the CUMU executive committee to reflect, explore, and share their visions for the future of our urban and metropolitan campuses. Vol. 30 No. 4 of Metropolitan Universities journal highlights diverse perspectives as we look to a new decade. READ 30.4
Hyperlocal research report released: We released ‘Building Community Capacity via Place-Based Hyperlocal Engagement,’ a benchmarking study that catalogs the diversity of hyperlocal engagement strategies across the CUMU membership and investigates which areas of community capacity are of interest to hyperlocal engagements. Opportunity youth research report released: We partnered with Cleveland State University to undertake a research project to identify and inventory opportunity youth programs across the CUMU membership and developed recommendations for institutions who are starting and/or engaging in programs to support opportunity youth. Anchor Learning Network launched: This three-year partnership with The Democracy Collaborative will help 33 participating CUMU member institutions to explore and advance an anchor mission—using their educational and operational place-based assets to advance the well-being of the communities they serve.
