VITA Sites with a focus on Financial Products and Services

Posted by on August 3, 2009

United Way of Delaware will be hosting an information session about VITA Sites with a focus on Financial Products and Services

(There is still space available –you must register by emailing kmartin@uwde.org)

August 6, 2009 from 10:00 – 12:00 pm.

Nehemiah Gateway, CDC has been facilitating the DE EITC Campaign for 8 years.  Over 13,000 tax returns and 561 financial products were opened at 22 tax sites throughout the state this year.  The DE EITC will present information on successful tips for VITA sites with a focus on opportunities outside of tax preparation (Savings Accounts, CD’s, Cash Cards, Credit Reports, etc…).  (http://www.eitcdelaware.net)

One of the unique components of their VITA sites is that their volunteers are able to open bank accounts on site without bank representatives present.  A bank representative will be present to answer questions about this process.  If you have current or potential banking partners for your VITA sites and are interested in finding out more information, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to bring them with you to this information session.

An Advent Cash Card representative will also be in attendance to answer questions about this unique tool for customers.

Space is very limited, so you must register with Kamysha Martin via email at kmartin@uwde.org and include the following:

·       how many people will be attending
o        their affiliation
·       Specific topics or questions you have for the presenters

The time frame for this information session is limited to 2 hours so we will stay on the agenda.  We cannot guarantee that all topics will be covered but will do our best to do so, which is why it is important to send your topics/questions ahead of time.

A conference call line will be available; however, you must register in order to receive this information.
