The Intergenerational Center at Temple University in the College of Education is a grant-funded Center charged with delivering services to children, youth and families in the community.

TempleCares Bridge to Employment program serves youth ages 17- 24-year-old by providing them with 21st Century skills, industry credentials and wrap-around supports to lead to gainful employment with family-sustaining wages in the healthcare and other industries.

TempleCares is seeking to fill a position for a Workforce Career Specialist. This individual will engage clients and establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed towards the goal of career readiness, skills training and competitive employment in the healthcare industry. This position will work according to the objectives of the grant to support the success of all clients.

The Workforce Career Specialist will provide workforce-related services directed toward barriers that are individualized to the client’s unique needs and goals. The incumbent will also assist individuals to navigate community resources, access services and overcome barriers to employment, as well as help lead group sessions related to skills training and employment. This position requires flexibility in arranging meetings with clients, hours in the community, assisting in attending appointments, job fairs, preparing for interviews, assisting in employment searches, and other services. This position also requires outreach to social-service organizations and maintenance of contact with resources in the community. Emphasis and focus is on the objective of placing individuals into full time sustainable employment. All services administered should be made with employment as the main outcome for participants. Performs other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have training and experience working with Opportunity Youth seeking employment.
