Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia – Home Visitor
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a Home Visitor to assist in the National Children’s Study, a long-term research project that will examine environmental influences on children’s health and development in order to improve the health and well-being of children nationwide. The study will follow approximately 100,000 children from across the country from before birth to age 21.
The Home Visitor will work as part of a data collection team responsible for coordinating the activities of the first trimester home visit for study participants. Responsibilities include administering questionnaires, completing physical measurements, and collecting biological and environmental samples. The Home Visitor will perform phlebotomy to collect blood specimens and will be cross-trained to assist with birth visit biospecimen collection. Individuals should be experienced with field data collection and have strong computer skills.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field with at least 1-2 years experience in research setting is required. Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in performing research activities is preferred. The Home Visitor must have transportation and be willing to travel across Montgomery County. S/he must be able to work flexible hours—the site office may be open evenings and weekends—and have the ability to attend out-of-town training sessions. The position is based out of the NCS Montgomery County site office located in Norristown, PA.
