Join Bethesda Project and Keystone First for a Poverty Simulation to Recognize Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

According to Pew Charitable Trusts, Philadelphia is the poorest city among America’s largest cities with nearly 400,000 of our residents living below the poverty line. As part of Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week (HHAW), Bethesda Project and Keystone First invite you to walk a mile in the shoes of those experiencing poverty by participating in the Community Action Poverty Simulation. The Poverty Simulation is an exercise designed to help participants begin to understand what it might be like to live in a typical low-income family, trying to survive from month to month.
