Local experts speak on global video game culture
Video Gaming & Society: Wednesday, November 20th, 2019, 9 AM – 4 PM
C2-28, Center for Business and Industry at Community College of Philadelphia
The Video Gaming & Society Conference is a student run event lead by Dr. Rick Frei of the Psychology Department at CCP. The conference, which aims to facilitate community discussion through education, free and open to the public, taking place on Wednesday November 20th in roomC2-28 at Community College of Philadelphia, Center for Business and Industry (1751 Callowhill, 19130).
Every semester for over 10 years, Dr. Rick Frei’s Research Methods class has conducted a large-scale citywide survey on a topic relevant to Philadelphia and then organized a conference to present the results and invite other speakers to educate the community on the topic. In the past, projects have been done on the soda tax, snitching, sexting, and cyberbullying. This semester the students are looking at the relationship between gaming and academic performance and will present the results of their research at this day-long event.
