Libraries and Autism Invites Applications for ‘Autism Welcome Here’ Grants
Libraries and Autism: We’re Connected is inviting applications for its Autism Welcome Here: Library Programs, Services and More grant program.
The grant honors the work of Meg Kolaya, co-founder of the organization and a pioneer in the area of library services for people with autism, and celebrates her contributions in promoting inclusion, connecting libraries and the autism community, and bringing awareness of the needs of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families to the library community.
To that end, grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded through the program in support of projects that benefit people with autism and their families. Projects may initiate a new, creative program or service; bring an established, successful program or service to a library for the first time; or enhance a program or service currently offered by a library. Funds may be used to hire a trainer to present a workshop, buy program materials, pay for staff coverage, etc., so long as these expenses further a library’s ability to serve people with autism through the proposed projects. Projects may target any age group.
Eligible applicants include all types of libraries in the United States and Canada.
See the Libraries and Autism: We’re Connected website for complete program guidelines, application instructions, and information about previous awardees.
Deadline: December 2, 2019
