Call for Proposals: Global Citizen Forum: Struggles, Strategies, and Solutions for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Higher Education

Drake University, in conjunction with our South African partner institution, University of KwaZulu-Natal, will host a global conference on equity and inclusion in higher education March 4-7, 2020 to provide an opportunity for faculty, staff and students from around the world to share in their experiences, challenges, and solutions that have shown progress in the area of equity and inclusion.
We are pleased to announce the call for proposals for presentations for the conference, which can be submitted here.

We invite proposals for practitioner and paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters, roundtable, and panel discussions. Students, Faculty, Staff, and community members are encouraged to apply to present. Additionally, sessions for the conference will be divided into four tracks, including:
a) Exploring historical influences of today’s present in higher education.
b) The role of activism in transformation of higher education.
c) Teaching strategies and the role of research to effect impactful change.
d) Addressing structures and power relations within higher education institutions.
Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with final decisions made by January 15, 2020.
