Whole Kids Foundation Invites Applications for School Garden Grant Program
The Whole Kids Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) founded by Whole Foods Market and guided by the same values, principles, expertise, and standards for quality ingredients, food production methods, and nutrition.
The foundation currently is inviting applications for its Garden Grant Program. Driven by the idea that kids who grow veggies are more likely to eat veggies, through the program, schools and nonprofit organizations will be awarded grants of $2,000 to turn outdoor spaces into powerful hands-on learning gardens that connect kids with food, spark their curiosity, and support classroom curriculum. The program supports both new and existing educational gardens.
To be eligible, applicants must be a K-12 school or a tax-exempt nonprofit as defined under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code working either independently or in partnership with a K-12 school.
The foundation will be hosting informational webinars about the opportunity on September 17 at 11:00 a.m. CST and October 2 at 3:00 p.m. CST.
See the Whole Kids Foundation website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
Deadline: October 15, 2019
