Makuu Summer Impact Program – apply by Jun 15
Posted by University of Pennsylvania on June 10, 2019
The Makuu Summer Impact Program is a five-week day camp that will give students a college experience — encompassing college access and completion, student led development of critical thinking/writing/reading skills, and opportunities for students to connect with Penn students, professionals, professors, and community leaders. The program runs Monday through Thursday, 10-3 p.m. and breakfast and a catered lunch will be provided daily.
The program connects to a larger course in the fall, Education 245, officially titled College Access and Completion. This program is of no cost to students. The course will include 30 undergraduates and 30 high school students (from the summer program) working alongside each other to commit to college completion, but also to create pathways to expand this mission throughout Philly. The program would provide the students with one college credit.
The application is simple and can be accessed here: bit.ly/MakuuSummerImpact2019. It is due June 15th, but we will not close responses if students do not get to complete it before that time frame.
