Posted by Keep Philadelphia Beautiful on August 13, 2018
Dear Friends of Keep Philadelphia Beautiful,
You didn’t think community cleanup season was over yet, did you?
Welp, we didn’t either!
Get ready to keep getting your hands dirty at the Heinz Wildlife Refuge with us, United by Blue + the Water Department.
And yes, because we know you’re wondering: there will be kayaks.
See you on the water,

The John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge was the first Urban Refuge in the United States, created to protect and preserve the area’s essential marshlands and tributary creeks. Located in the Delaware Estuary, the Refuge is a natural oasis for both wildlife and city-dwellers. The Refuge not only exists to conserve the freshwater tidal marsh that is essential for maintaining the health of the Estuary ecosystem, but also to serve as an environmental education center for park visitors. Help us to keep it beautiful!
