Research Project Manager, Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice

The Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice will launch in September 2018 in the College of Education at Temple University. It will be an action research center focused on rethinking and restructuring higher education and social policies, practices, and resources to create opportunities for all students to complete college degrees.
Reporting to the Director of Research and working closely with program staff, the Research Project Manager is responsible for the management of multiple research projects. Functions include providing support in areas such as instrumentation, data management, coordinating work across team members and general administration. This position organizes and manages data collection and some data analysis; interfaces with multiple levels of the organization and external entities to discuss services, technology, and project needs; establishes and maintains collaborative relationship with administrators, faculty, and staff to facilitate research needs such as data collection and partner communication. The incumbent will also assist in the management of grant reporting and staffing and should have both research and administrative experience and ability to grow in both domains. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Master’s degree in social science field and at least 2 years directly related experience in program coordination or management with some experience in education-related research field and exposure to grant-based funding structures. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

* Ability to work in fast-paced environment and multi-task
* High quality written and verbal communication skills especially on virtual interfaces and ability to work with individuals across a wide range of expertise (faculty and researchers to administrative staff and students)
* Strong project management, analytical, problem solving, strategic and organizational skills
* Proficiency in leading and managing projects
* Ability to influence colleagues to meet demanding project timelines
* Coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks
* Ability to lead others, assign workload, organize projects, prioritize the work of others, and resolve problems that arise
* Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint mandatory).
