Employment 2Day for a Better 2Morrow Partner Referral Information

For 32 years, CIS of Philadelphia has provided services to children and families throughout the five county regions in the areas of workforce development and social service supports. Communities In Schools of Philadelphia also serves as a youth advocate expert and partner convener. In keeping in line with our mission, CIS of Philadelphia has partnered with Philadelphia Works to offer a new and exciting program for “opportunity youth” to acquire a skill that will lead to an employment industry recognized credential, job placement assistance, and social service supports.

Employment 2Day for a Better 2Morrow serves youth who are in the process of or have aged out of the Foster Care system within the past year two years. Employment 2Day for a Better 2Morrow participants can enroll in one of three employment pathway programs to achieve 21st Century Work Skills, with the opportunity to earn industry recognized certifications in construction (OSHA), healthcare (CNA), or culinary arts (ServSafe) and receive job placement assistance. The goal for Employment 2Day for a Better 2Morrow is to offer youth who are ageing or have aged out of Foster Care the opportunity to acquire the employment skills and training that will allow them to earn a livable wage and become more self-sufficient.

Program Eligibility
Youth eligible for the Employment 2Day For A Better 2Morrow programming must meet the following eligibility requirements:
• Age 17 – 21 years old aging out or aged out of Foster Care within the past two years
• Documentation of DHS involvement
• Successful completion of a three week orientation
