WorkReady Program Manager, Urban Affairs Coalition

This position is part of a seasonal team responsible for the Urban Affairs Coalition’s Summer Youth Employment program, which provides paid summer job opportunities and support to youth ages 14-18 through WorkReady Philadelphia. The six week program runs from July through mid-August and includes career exposure, on-the-job mentoring and professional development. In 2018, UAC anticipates serving 1,400 youth.
The WorkReady Program Manager is responsible for day-to-day program management and staff supervision for one or more program models within UAC’s WorkReady program. Job responsibilities encompass program implementation and program close-out. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring all program goals are met and in compliance with funder requirements, working closely with the Assistant Director, Enrollment/Payroll Manager, Worksite Manager, and other key staff. The Urban Affairs Coalition anticipates hiring two Program Managers, one responsible for the Work Experience program model and one responsible for both the Service Learning and Internship program models. Each Program Manager will oversee programming for 600-900 youth and directly supervise 10-15 staff.
This is a seasonal position beginning in May and ending in August/September.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a team of approximately 10 Program Mentors to ensure:
o Oversight of worksite safety and troubleshooting workplace issues and concerns
o Accurate and timely youth timesheet collection and pay distribution
o Youth mentoring and professional development, including weekly workshops and completion of contextual learning projects
o Timely and accurate completion of pre- and post-assessments, satisfaction surveys, and other paperwork required by the funder or Project Director;
Program Manager may take responsibility for development program curriculum and professional development including youth and worksite orientations, staff training, youth workshops, and youth contextual learning projects;
Coordinate with Enrollment/Payroll Manager to ensure that all program participants are properly enrolled, program participant payroll is processed accurately and on time, and questions and concerns are fully addressed;
Coordinate with Enrollment/Payroll Manager to oversee the collection and entry of youth timesheets to ensure accurate and timely youth wage payments;
Coordinate with Worksite Manager to ensure that all worksites are properly enrolled and meet program requirements, youth are placed at worksites appropriately, and questions and concerns are fully addressed;
Coordinate with Assistant Director, Enrollment/Payroll Manager, and Worksite Manager to ensure accurate and timely responses to inquiries from youth, their families, and worksites regarding program details and requirements;
Oversee program data entry and file maintenance, ensuring accurate data collection and consistent, transparent, quality communication flow both internally and externally;
Oversee program close-out, including reviewing staff reports and ensuring files are complete and stored neatly;
Perform other related duties as required to ensure program quality and funder compliance.
