Community Survey on Education Results

A few weeks ago, we asked you to share what you wanted to see in your schools and identify the most important individual and group attributes for the incoming Board of Education. Today, we have the results of that city-wide survey.
Between December 12, 2017 and February 7, 2018, more than 3,000 respondents representing all residential Philadelphia zip codes completed the survey. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with the City and the Educational Nominating Panel.
Some of the top school-improvement priorities identified by survey respondents were:
- investing in music and arts curriculum
- increasing literacy levels by fourth grade
- improved school climate
Respondents also noted that important attributes for future Board of Education members were:
- ethics and integrity
- past experience as an educator
- being a parent of a student
