Content Writers, Children’s Literacy Initiative

Children’s Literacy Initiative (CLI) is looking for talented part-time Content Writers. The Content Writers will work closely with Content Managers to develop and write content on best practices in early literacy instruction. Responsibilities will include developing training and resources for teachers, professional developers and principals, and writing digital materials for CLI’s LEARN website and blog (http://www.learn.cli.org). This position requires excellent research and writing skills, strong communication and collaboration skills, and knowledge of effective professional development design. Content Writers will be responsive to feedback and able to write on tight deadlines.

Content Writer Duties and Responsibilities:
- Researching best practices in early literacy
- Collaborating with Content Team to develop and organize new ideas and strategies
- Developing innovative and original content
- Writing about a wide variety of educational topics for multiple platforms (website, blogs, articles, guides, etc.)
- Content Writer Requirements and Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative and innovative thinker and planner
- Confident in producing work across multiple literacy topics
- Able to write on tight deadlines
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Creative Writing, Journalism, English, or related field preferred
- Three to four years’ teaching experience, some coaching experience preferred. Some writing for publication preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and Google Docs
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive knowledge of the company and products preferred
- Ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and be a problem-solver
