College Access & Success e-learning platform
Posted by National College Access Network on January 12, 2018
NCAN’s e-learning platform saw many changes and improvements in 2017. We’re proud to have provided our membership with such a valuable learning tool – for free, no less – and look forward to continuing to offer this member benefit in the coming year.
Last year, we released eight new units and improved additional content based on user feedback. All 23 units were reviewed and updated over the summer and early fall. The units with the most activity in 2017 included Admissions Advising for First-Generation College Goers, Federal Financial Aid Programs, Financial Aid 101, Postsecondary Advising for Youth Experiencing Homelessness, and FAFSA Completion 101 and 201. There’s more to come: we anticipate releasing three new units in early 2018, including Admission Advising Strategies, Career Advising Strategies, and a Student Success 201 unit on strategies for retaining college students.
As 2018 quickly approaches, consider adopting an e-learning completion challenge as your New Year’s resolution! You can challenge your team to see who can complete the most units by February, or who will be first to earn a specific badge. Follow the lead of several NCAN members by offering incentives – like a gift card or small bonus – to the winner or resolution-keepers.
