Parents Progressing With Life
Parents Progressing with Life (PPWL) is a free parenting program provided by PLC Philadelphia to empower parents. We take a creative look at positive parenting techniques and teach parents ways to apply these lessons to their daily lives.
We welcome parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teen parents, foster parents, & any other family members caring for children!
Curriculum:
Parenting Styles
Nurturing as a Lifestyle
Cultural Parenting Traditions
Developing Spirituality in Parenting
Making Good Choices
Growth & Development of Children
The Importance of Touch
Developing Empathy
Managing & Communicating Feelings
Managing Anger & Stress
Understanding Discipline
Rewards & Punishment
PLC schedules and provides day and evening classes, refreshment meals, transportation (tokens based on need) childcare, graduation gift cards, resource information and other case management referrals when requested. Participants are requested to complete 12 parenting skills training sessions. Graduating parents receive a certificate of completion.
