Join us for breakfast on December 7th as we discuss:
School Governance: The Road Ahead for Philadelphia
After more than 15 years, the School District of Philadelphia will once again be governed by a nine to thirteen-member Mayoral-appointed school board.
Over the next several months, there will be lots of questions – from the tactical, to the practical, to the conceptual. Yet, there can be no doubt that the most important question is, “How can this governance change best meet the needs of the school children of Philadelphia?” And, as education stakeholders, an equally important question is, “How can we help?”
This December 7th, you are invited to join in a dialogue with Otis Hackney, Philadelphia’s Chief Education Officer, on the question of school governance.
Come to learn! What work is underway? What are the key transition timelines? What, if any, implications exist for continuing efforts around Pre-K and Community Schools? What does a governance change present as opportunities and as challenges? And, what are ways in which we can all contribute to the success of the Mayoral-appointed school governance model?
