Expertise/Credentials/Credibility/Affordability
Our Certificate Programs are carefully and intentionally designed to position you and your organization for success. You can advance your skills and career through a non-degreed, in-depth learning experience in a specific skill set, while earning a respected credential from The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University.
Each of our Certificates requires between nine and 10 courses, given in a recommended sequence to progressively build expertise. You have up to three years to complete a Certificate, making it well suited to the working professional.
In addition to this real world professional education, you will also earn respected credentials and Continuing Education Units, as well CFREs for development professionals and Social Worker CEUs. A perfect match for today’s world, a Certificate Program offers skills, competency, insight, confidence, credibility and credentials, without the expense and time commitment of a degree program.
Certificate in Nonprofit Management
Whether you are new to a leadership role in a nonprofit, aspiring to one, or seeking a deeper understanding of the sector, the Certificate in Nonprofit Management prepares you with a diverse and well-balanced knowledge of nonprofit administration and operations.
The broad-based curriculum includes board development, communications, financial management, fundraising, human resources and supervision, program evaluation, and strategic planning, preparing current and future leaders of the nonprofit sector to be strategic, efficient and effective.
Certificate in Fundraising
This course of study is designed for those who are not full-time fundraising professionals, or not formally trained in fundraising, but seek instruction in the basic skills and methods of resource development.
With its strong grounding in the concepts, trends and practices that guide successful and ethical fundraising, you will become versed in the full processes of this desired skill. The program is also useful for those who assist with fundraising and for executive directors and board members who seek increased confidence and knowledge to support their roles as fundraisers for their causes.
From introductory level courses that emphasize program strategy, management practices and mission, to a progression toward advanced level courses that focus on each of the major fundraising strategies, you will gain knowledge that will enable you to design and execute each activity. Ultimately you will be able to create a fundraising plan to fit your organization.
Certificate in Marketing & Communications
The Certificate in Marketing & Communications focuses on an increasingly significant specialty area for nonprofits and supports staff responsible for marketing, communications, public relations and development, messaging, as well as executive directors and board members who recognize that they are their organization’s chief marketers.
It provides a comprehensive overview of the marketing and communications processes needed to develop and implement an effective plan that promotes your organization and its mission. Incorporating plans and strategies, research, analysis, media relations, websites, branding, and messaging in support of fundraising, you will study both traditional approaches and cutting edge new media.
Build-Your-Own Customized Curriculum
It’s not unusual for nonprofit roles to grow organically, with different responsibilities and duties evolving. This customized certificate addresses that circumstance by enabling you to create a roster of courses that fits your needs.
You start with three core courses: Nonprofit Management 101, Foundations of Financial Management and Effective Communications. From there, with the support of our education associate, you create a curriculum of a total of at least nine full-day classes (or equivalent) that fulfills your goals.
