Nationalities Service Center Announces AmeriCorps VISTA Positions
IMMEDIATE OPENINGS: APPLICATIONS DUE THURSDAY, MAY 7, 2009
Nationalities Services Center is excited to announce three Recovery AmeriCorps VISTA opportunities to serve immigrants and recently arrived refugees who are impacted by the current economic downturn. Qualified individuals will have the opportunity to work as part of a highly-qualified and passionate team working to lessen the effect of the downturn economy on immigrants and refugees throughout the Greater Philadelphia area.

Job Title: Matching Grant Resource Coordinator, AmeriCorps*VISTA
Department: Social Services Department
Report To: Matching Grant Coordinator
Position Summary:
Matching Grant Resource Coordinator will build and expand resources (in-kind donations and volunteers) for the Nationalities Service Center Matching Grant Program, a public-private alternative that serves as an alternative to benefits from the Department of Public Welfare for newly-arrived refugees to Philadelphia and to help them integrate into life in the US. Individual will also aid in the implementation of financial literacy programming including educational Individual Development Accounts for immigrants.

Job Title: Development Associate, AmeriCorps*VISTA
Department: Administration
Report To: Director of Development
Position Summary:
Development Associate provides both direct fund-raising and development support activities to sustain and enhance NSC’s programs and services. The individual will assist in the implement a fund-raising and outreach plan to increase NSC’s capacity to provide services and resources to immigrant and refugee individuals and families that NSC serves.

Position Title: Job Development Team Leader, AmeriCorps*VISTA
Department: Social Services Department
Report To: Matching Grant Coordinator
Position Summary:
Job Development Team Leader will be responsible driving the implementation and advancement of strategies to increase NSC’s employer network for job placement of newly arrived refugees.
