NCTM Accepting Proposals for Teacher Professional Development Grants
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics works to ensure equitable mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students through vision, leadership, professional development, and research.
To that end, NCTM is accepting applications for its Teacher Professional Development Grants for Grades 6–8 Teachers grant program, which supports professional development opportunities for middle school mathematics teachers.
For 2018–19, grants of up to $3,000 will be awarded to persons currently teaching mathematics in grades 6-8. The proposal must delineate the teacher(s)’ professional development plan and address how the proposed project will improve the teacher(s)’ competence and affect students’ learning. While grants are not intended to fund the purchase of technology, proposals involving the use of technology to enhance student learning are encouraged.
To be eligible, applicants must be a current NCTM member (on or before October 13, 2017) and teach mathematics in grades 6-8 at least 50 percent of the school day.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the NCTM website.
DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 3, 2017
