The 2016 CUMU Annual Conference, held in Washington, D.C., just weeks prior to the U.S. Presidential election, was an exciting opportunity for the scholars, administrators, and education partners who attended to “Chart the Future of Metropolitan Universities.” Addressing topics ranging from safer cities and economic development to student achievement and civic engagement, the future seems bright with the many dedicated and innovative minds in higher education forging a way forward.
