Creating Engagement between Schools and Their Communities

The personal experiences of a variety of educational leaders provide lessons from working in community schools, thoughtfully compiled in Creating Engagement between Schools and Their Communities. The success of these schools is not attributed merely to their labels as community schools, but to the specific actions of key leaders within the schools.
Community schools are defined by the authors as schools that “push boundaries to create authenticity in partnerships and to focus on equitable schools and empowered communities.”
